As title says, my game is crashing when I try to run it through GoG Galaxy. It does start to load (I guess), but as soon as I press the mouse button to skip through all the intro/ads/whatever, it crashes immediately. If I start it through the folder though by clicking on nwmain, it runs just fine.

I'm not sure what the cause of this may be, as the first time I loaded up the game through Galaxy, it worked just fine. I have done a complete reinstall, and upon loading the game afterwards through Galaxy, it continues to crash. just as before.

Obviously I can still play the game, sans-Galaxy, so I'm not mad or anything, it's more of a minor annoyance than anything.Although If anyone has an idea as to what the issue might be, please let me know.
The issue is Galaxy. If you look through the game forums, more issues are caused by Galaxy than any other single factor. It's a beta buggy mess at this time. You don't need it.

Saying the issue is trying to launch the game via Galaxy when OP says he can't launch the game via Galaxy is like advising someone with a Windows problem to delete Windows. Such an "advice" accomplishes nothing and OP already knew he could launch the game without Galaxy. And yes, you don't need Galaxy, because it's the whole point of optional software. Doesn't mean it's not useful.

Grumple, file a mantis report (the link can be found in the first post of GOG Galaxy beta thread) and in the meantime you could try reinstalling Galaxy, since you said that it launched at first just fine.
This is a known issue with Galaxy which I have myself. I reported it on Mantis among other things and after a year still there was no solution. Re-installing either game or Galaxy doesnt solve the issue.

Like Hickory said, Galaxy is a disaster at the moment. It crashes games, it corrupt save games, it corrupt installs or even downloads. And furthermore, at the moment there is no reason to use it unless you want some achivements on a few games like Witcher 3.

Try reading. I never said the issue was trying to launch the game via Galaxy, I said the issue IS Galaxy. At this stage of it's development, is is far less than useful.
Thank you all for the replies. I'll just continue to play via the shortcut. My main reason for wanting to use Galaxy was just to avoid cluttering up my desktop with another icon, but it's nothing to get upset over. The game still works, after all.

I'll file a report, although it doesn't sound like that will make much difference (as Engerek reported it a year ago and it is still happening) but it can't hurt either.

Thanks again for the suggestions and tips!
