I am playing NWN1 Hordes of the Underdark. I am about to finish the 3rd floor of undermountain. The game is pretty easy for my Druid but one thing keeps bugging me. The Drows cast "Ultravision pierces it but it doesnt work. I am casting Ultravision on myself but I am still effected by darkness.

I also tried I tried using "Light" spell or a torch but both didnt work. Only thing I found that worked so far was the "Greater Dispell" magic which clears the area for everyone.

Question is, are there other ways to see while Drows cast darkness.

Tnx.
Engin.
Ultravision and True Seeing are the usual counters. What they do is dispel the 50% concealment effect if, and only if, you cast the counters while in the darkness sphere of effect.
Thanks Hickory. I noticed that when I use Ultravision after they cast darkness, I can still not see but I can attack them and dont have to randomly wonder to find them. I can still click on them even if they are away.
It seems that there was a misunderstanding, while those two spells are negating the effect of Darkness, the visual effect remain and it may make difficult to target opponents inside the affected area

NWN2 has the same small flaw, the button to put any item into evidence should make their read aura visible again, or at least a little more visible

This. If you have Ultravision or True Seeing, you don't suffer a penalty to AC inside the spell's effect and don't get a 50% miss chance inside the spell's effect and can use tab to easily highlight/target enemies inside the spell's effect...but the black cloud itself doesn't vanish.
Thank you guys. It was pretty annoying at first but I got used to it and not removing the cloud makes sense now when you use nightvision because nightvision effects only you. Your companians still can not see.
