It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm curious about the future release of GOG Galaxy and it's effect on games such as Neverwinter. From what I can tell you need a unique code requested from GOG support to unlock some online features.

Does anyone know if Galaxy will take care of this need to get a unique key from support?

Maybe if a staff member can chime in on this...

Thanks!

The game enforces that each player connected to the server must have a unique serial key. I'm surprised that GOG hasn't done something about their key policy for NWN; they automatically place your unique key on the game page in your account when you purchase NWN2, so I don't know why they haven't moved to a similar system for NWN1.
I also hope GoG allows for much easier MP gaming, due to the lack of gamespy servers. And although the NWN Online community has gamely ventured on and come up with their own solutions, it would breathe much needed life back into this timeless classic.
re: Multiplayer capability --

For NWN2, my NWN2 Client Extension adds back the in-game server browser. If you use the NWN2 CE, Zelknolf's server list and monitor app can be used to launch the game directly to connect to a server from the desktop.

For NWN1, virusman's adds back the in-game server browser. [url=https://github.com/jd28/neverrun]jd28's neverrun provides a similar server browser from desktop and launch game straight to a selected server capability for NWN1.

Both services use an automatically maintained server list (there are server side NWNX plugins to have a server self-register). Web front ends for the same exist, for example, http://www.nwnlist.com . The master tracker itself has a publicly available API for integration with other projects.
