Hello to all,
I am wondering if the Enhaced Edition still use the 3.0 D&D ruleset or developpers have "upgraded" it to the 3.5 one.

Thank you!
Why would they do that? Obsidian did it 12 years ago with NWN2.
Still uses 3.0. If you want 3.5 play NWN 2. You can also play Pathfinder: Kingmaker. I know it's not D&D, but it uses 3.5 rules. Kingmaker is a to-may-to, to-mah-to situation. I don't know of any other games that use the 3.5 system.

Edit: Ninja'd

Well, my favourite class, the ranger, is a little more useful in the 3.5 ruleset.

I asked that because i remember they put the class kits and the new BG 2 classes in the first Baldur's Gate EE, but that's ok.

Another question, did they reduce the amount of barrels/chest in the game? It was very tedious

I don't know, but I'm pretty confident they wouldn't change something like that in the game.
They're not going to switch officially to 3.5, because it would break compatibility with older modules. In fact, aside from bugfixes, they're hesistant to change mechanics at all for these reasons.

That said, there are mods you can find on the Vault that introduce the 3.5 ruleset, if I recall correctly.

Just to be clear, the mod this person linked to is a far cry from actual 3.5 rules. It's not even close. Also, it's not in any way official or even supported anymore. Finally, barely any modules are designed with it in mind.

NWN2 and Temple of Elemental Evil are 3.5 games.

No. That's 3.0.
Icewind dale 2 uses 3.5 edition

Only Neverwinter Nights 1 and Pool of Radiance uses the 3.0 ruleset

Edit:

I was wrong, Icewind dale 2 uses the 3.0 edition !

Considering Pool of Radiance came out in 1988, and 3.0 came out in 2000, I'm going to guess that PoR didn't use the 3.0 rule set. ;)

He's talking about Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, which is 3.0 (albeit majorly dumbed down 3.0).

Ah. I wondered whether there was a later Pool of Radiance, but a 3 second google/wikipedia search didn't turn up anything.

Not surprised. People would rather forget that game. :P

In case anyone's interested, I wrote a bit about PoR:RoMD here:

It actually did some things right, but mostly it's been relegated to the mists of time for a reason.
