The title says it all. I'm playing the enhanced edition of NWN on Linux. I see there are updates for the game and DLCs. Sorry if these are stupid questions.

If I apply the updates, will it break my saved games?
Will I get any advantage for applying the updates on my existing saved game?

The newest version of the game is 81.8193.16. You can check your version on the menu screen once you're in-game. If the number matches your version, you don't have to update anything. If the version doesn't match you'll have to re-download and re-install the game from scratch, because there are no separate patches for the offline installers as of now. The saves should be fine even if you update to the newest version.

My saves have been compatible. We're still on the same major version number (8193) which is not supposed to break compatibility, assuming you're coming from a version like 8193.13.

I must admit, i don't uninstall before updating. I simply install the new version over the top of the old. I appreciate this is probably going to come back to bite me at some point but it has worked for now :)

Thanks. I have some progress and I don't have much time for plying. I didn't want to lose ground. I've heard the new update can look pretty slick though.
