NWN seems to always crash at the start up for me and I have tried a ton of suggestions on here already to no success. I have tried to start it with SafeMovie=1, I have tried to add Disable Intro Movies=1 to the display options, I have tried starting it from the nwmain.exe, and I have downloaded the update everyone links that updates it, I have put it on my exclusions on AVAST, I downloaded it to C:\Games. I seem to have tried everything to no success at all. It always just crashes when it goes to the black screen when I hit play or start it from nwmain.exe. Can anyone else help me with this because i seem to be out of options.

What graphics card do you have? Try installing older drivers...

If you have an ATI card, try locating your version of atioglxx.dll and copy it to the root folder of your installation (e.g. C:\Games\Neverwinter Nights).

I have a AMD RADEON HD 6450. Does the same idea of installing older drivers still apply?

I am not sure if I can help you, but here are a few suggestions, which might or might not make a difference:
- Try running nwmain as administrator.
- Remove nwn.ini and nwnplayer.ini (keep a backup) and try again.
- Reinstall to new directory (away from the standard programs folder) and try again.
- Try running the game with CPU Affinity set to 1 (there should be an ini setting for this).
- Try configuring the game for compatibility mode (and no sound) with nwconfig.exe and try again.

These suggestions are in random order.
It's Catalyst AI that causes the crashes, disable it.
