Combat in this game works like:

1) Select from radial menu attack or special attack

2) Use quickbar commands

But my character sometimes doesn't attack anyone and just stands there?

Hostile target: Sword cursor appears near creature or placeable (like combat dummy). LClick on target to attack.
Non-hostile target: RClick on creature and use radial menu to force attack (the sword icon).

Placeable: RClick to use radial to attack (the bash icon).

There's only one exception for physical attacks: The first time your toon uses a polymorph form, the new form won't attack. Remedy: Do a preliminary non-combat morph, then unmorph. The next time your toon polymorphs, it will attack as normal.

Thanks so much! I guess the high resolution made it hard to see the sword pointer. :)
