Hey is it like possible to co-op over a LAN network with this game.
Might just buy a second copy if it's possible.

Edit: Derp it was supposed to be titled LAN co-op

I think so. As long as you're not playing towards the internet you probably don't need a second copy even. I think you can just install the game to several computers (not sure though). Try.

As long as you're not connected to the internet you don't need the real CD-keys either...so...

Also see this thread on the official GOG standpoint....so I seem to be correct:

Unless GOG.com deliberately removed functionality, you should be able to play over a LAN. That feature was built into the game from the beginning. Might need 2 CD keys though, so you might need to buy it twice. Well worth the extra ten bucks, in my opinion.

This thread seems to directly contradict what you said. As far as I can tell you CANNOT play a LAN game without having a unique CD key per installation.

I tried this weekend and found that I could not even set up a LAN game without first creating a Bioware online account. And upon doing so, I was informed that my CD key was already in use - not surprising because it's the default GOG key and I haven't received a unique one yet.

So a valid CD key is needed to set up a LAN game, and although I haven't got that far yet, I presume there will be an additional CD key check for everyone who wants to join the LAN game once it is set up.

It's kind of annoying considering that most other games with LAN features don't require you to own multiple copies, but at least the $10 GOG price tag helps with that.
You cannot play a LAN game without a unique CD Key if you successfully connect to Bioware's Master Server. I will not comment on the issue beyond that.
The original game certainly works as both a LAN and Internet server and client, but you do need different CD keys for each client (the dedicated server doesn't need a seperate one tho.)

YOu will also want to edit nwnplayer.ini on so that each client is using a seperate port. It opens with notepad, so open it and find "Client Port =5121" and change one of the machines to be 5122.

Have fun :)
