I've been playing SoU for about four, maybe five hours now. Dorna was shot in the back and teleported away to heal. I went through literally ever single area I've explored up to this point(just before you talk to the dragon about releasing Deekin) and I can't find her. She's not in the starting area, she's not in any of the little caves I've went in, I just can't find her. Is this a game bug?

In chapter one your henchmen will respawn back at Drogan's house, but after that they will remain where they fell until you restore their health.
That's the problem. She wasn't in the same area she fell in, she's not back at Drogan's House, and she doesn't seem to be anywhere in-between. It's like her character model disappeared completely.

I am still in Act 1, before I forget to mention that.

Did you walk back to Drogan's house? Try using Mystra's ring to teleport back. Also check Dorna's room (just in case).
I did as you suggested(walking and using the ring), twice over just in case I missed something. I cannot find her.

EDIT: OK, so I tried to reload all my saves this morning, and every single save I have is now corrupted. This really sucks.

what? why? when were they last modified? the game shouldn't be touching your saves unless you tell it to. were you using DebugMode to try and sort the situation out? you can't save with DebugMode active, you have to turn it off first, or it will mess the save.

I had something like this happen to me in NWN1 during the OC in act 3. Tomi got poisoned or something from a golem, and then it killed him. but, weirdly, he didn't respawn back at temple. or he did, but he just dropped to the ground there. If I would move far enough away from him, he would fade in next to me, but still would just be prone. anyway, eventually it fixed itself when I shut down and restarted the game I think. so it could be something like that.

check the modified date on your saves. if it's not recent, then it could be something to do with the game itself. renaming or your configuration files (nwn.ini?) and then starting the game and then loading your saves, could work.

I'm starting to think its my game in general now. I tried the OC and it crashed after twenty minutes, around four to six times in a row in different areas. I might just have to re-install and hope for the best.

Did you apply the 1.69 critical rebuild?

No. I just applied this: http://www.moddb.com/games/neverwinter-nights/downloads/community-patch-171. I wasn't even aware of a critical rebuild.

I'm not really a forum guy. I only make a topic when I come across something like this that I can't fix myself.
isn't the gog version patched to 1.69? anyway, I didn't apply the critical rebuild patch and I could play through the game. < actually disregard that. it seems gog's 1.69 still might not have something from the critical rebuild 1.69. not sure about that. either way, I didn't have any problems, but if you do reinstall, it's probably a strong bet to install that critical rebuild patch.

you should probably avoid any community patches, other than the official BioWare patch for your first playthrough. NWN isn't really a very buggy game. dunno if the 171 patch adds other stuff like graphical improvements or other such bullshit but if it does I would think you can get that stuff outside of that large patch as well.

I would not suggest using that. It's not some actual community project, it's one guy who tried to fix some stuff and attempted to label it as something community accepted, which it is not. In all fairness, he did fix some bugs...but the bugs he fixed are basically irrelevant, especially in single player, and he altered some of the rules of the game to fit his own vision -- which is really a bad idea in something you're trying to promote as a simple bug fix.

Then he also tried to throw in extra graphical "features" that are actually modifications others have made -- again, some of them are good, some of them people don't really like. But if you use his patch you have to take it all versus installing the graphical stuff you want.

There's a reason most people don't use it.

And get the 1.69 critical rebuild, GOG has been very wrong in the past about what is actually patched.

Oh. I didn't know that when I got it. I just downloaded the latest bug fixer I could find and started playing. Thanks for the info.

I ended up needing to reinstall the game. It started crashing at the main menu after about an hour and never got better. I'll try it with just the critical rebuild patch and see what happens.

I'm going to add something to this topic, I already begin to play NWN1 OC and suddenly with certain henchman they do not respawn in the temple (Timmy is a example in the first chapter though in the following is OK). Not sure if its a bug in the scripts.
