I like the game, but I find the camera system to be a nuisance to the point where I find it a bit difficult to keep at it. Does anyone know if there are any mods that make the camera better behaved?

You'll have to tell us which game you are talking about. And most likely what exactly annoys you about the camera.

For NWN Diamond
Camera Hack Mod, allows you to zoom out more, look at the sky, and also zoom in, up to first person perspective. Mind you, it is not just a mod, but a direct modification of the original game .exe (don't forget to make a backup first!).

For NWN EE
No dice, sadly. Since the .exe has changed (and is constantly updated), the old hack above is not an option anymore, and to my knowledge there is no replacement, currently.

For NWN2
Also requires hacking the main game .exe, following these instructions, at your own risk. It increases the distance you can zoom out.

Other than that, you'll have to experiment with the in-game camera modes and settings and find the one least inconvenient to you.
