Hey,
So I have a problem in chapter two, on the East Road: I can't get into the Archaelogist's Barracks. The doors are locked and I need a special key...the weird thing is, I don't see any mention of this in any walkthrough! I need to get IN the barracks in order to talk to Lenton to unlock a quest, and I need to get to Revel to finish another one--I already talked to his mother in the caves.

Is this a bug? I'm aware, from reading, that there is a bug concerning Lenton--getting him to speak to you--but I don't see anything about getting into the building in the first place, and Jax never gave me a key. Does he give me a key if I complete the "What Lurks Below" quest? I'm curious, since there is no mention of that in any FAQ or walkthrough that I've seen yet. Hmmmm.....
Hello, if I remeber correctly to get the key you need to talk to some one out side (the head archaeologist I think) I can't remember his name but I think he is just out side the front door
Yeah, that's the thing. He didn't give me a key. He just disappeared on me, said he was going to Neverwinter for supplies. WTF???
Sorry I can't help you there, the only thing I can sugest is that you go back to a save BEFORE you entered the caves and talk to him then. If this don't work then there must be a error in your game somewhere, maybe you should try and reinstall.
Yeah....screw that. I'll just soldier on. Maybe on another playthrough.

You could try spawning the key in using the cheat console. I believe the code for the key is m1s1key1. Post back if you need instructions on how to spawn it in.
Thanks! Yeah, I have no idea how to do that...help would be appreciated. :)

First check to make sure your cheat console is enabled. Go into your NWN main installation folder and look for a file named nwnplayer.ini (the .ini may not show if you don't have Show File Extensions enabled). Open it with notepad or any other text editor and check under the [Game Options] heading. Make sure the following lines are there:

CODEWORD XP2=barkeater
CODEWORD XP1=ffrodriguez
CODEWORD=hacktastic

If they're not, just add them in. If they are, then you're good to go.

Fire up the game and load your save. Hit the tilde key (the one that's to the left of the number keys with the ~ symbol on it). This will activate your console. Type in (commands are case sensitive and pay attention to the spacing)

DebugMode1 and hit Enter.

Then type in dm_spawnitem m1s1key1 and hit Enter.

This should spawn the key into your character's inventory or it may appear on the ground where your cursor is. (Can't recall which for certain, so make sure your cursor is on a spot where your character can get to).

Then type in DebugMode 0 (that's a zero, not an O) and hit enter again. (This turns off Debug mode. It can corrupt your saves if you save while it's active). Hit the Tilde key again to exit the console.

Hopefully that will work for you. If not, just post back and we'll try to walk you through it. It's not as complicated as it looks here.
