I use Debian 8 (Jessie). The game detect my gamepad (Logitech F710==XBox360) and the buttons A,B,X,Y,Start,Back work fine but not the stick. I can only move to the right side by pressing the LT button.
I have tested it with the kerneldriver (xpad) and the xboxdrv from repo but the same effect. I can not play the game with my pad. I could use a program which transform the button to a keyboard event but I want to play it with my wife in coop and that does not work.... :/

You need to start the game with LC_ALL=C if you're not using English or something similar as your main language (don't ask me why, maybe the fucked up floating-point number parsing). Walking should work then, but throwing the Bola still feels broken for me.

How do I do that? As an option to start it via terminal?

Ja, es muss als Umgebungsvariable gesetzt werden, d.h. du musst es im Terminal vor dem eigentlichen Befehl eingeben.
Also so, wenn du dich im Spielordner befindest:
LC_ALL=C ./start.sh

Hey, vielen Dank. So klappt es! Mal sehen, wie lange es so läuft. Aber irgendetwas müssen die ja falsch programmiert haben, wenn diese Option dazu führt, dass das Spiel dann Gamepadeingaben nicht zuordnen kann. Ich werde dem Entwickler deinen Tip zukommen lassen. Danke!
