I know this is a survival game and it should be tough. but every time my character gets food, water, medecine, proper clothing, and crafting materials, I got ambushed by a tough enemy and whatever I do it's death. one time a dogman literally appeared 6 hexes away when I was out of moves, I tried to escape but failed so I faught him instead and died. Just now I died by a blue frog cultist, after spotting him I was 3 steps away from him, I knew if I run back he will reach me with his spear(he will catch up), so I decided to fight him. just one hit and I was screwed, I fell down, first and second options were to crawl or get up, later options were to wait. I was 8 hours in, had 4 layers of clothes on torso and died just like that. 30+ hours playtime and moments like this makes me feel I wasted my time, it feels unfair, like it's beyond me. in other encounters there are stratigies, options to choose from, but encounters like the ones I mentioned? yeah hope I made my point clear

Edit: and by the way, I like this game and I'll keep playing it. just wanted to get this out of my chest...

I'm with you, it does feel unfair at times, especially when you sort of "master" the environmental survival and end up ambushed like you describe.. I didn't follow the storyline yet though -- i intent to do that when i get back to it, this time with the help of some save tool.

I'm thinking to do this too until I reach the ending, because I'm intrigued by the lore
