While a Crude Torch can.

Differences- Quality Torch was made manually while Crude Torch was made with the Known Recipes Tab.

Looks like that arrow next to confirm shows different results!

I think it's only showing the first item in that particular list. If you push the -> (right arrow) button you should be able to click through other options - one of them should be Quality Torch (lit) or something along those lines.

Most items can be used to make multiple things, and most items can also be taken apart - so there are many times in the game where you have a choice of things to build (or deconstruct).
