I'm wondering if ceratin shanties only show up after progress in the story. I've only progressed the main quest to after investigating the last known location of the captain of the Rachel. I have purchased the shanty DLC as well and while I did hear some of the new songs immediately, I only ever seem to get a rotation of about 5 or 6 of the same ones.

Perhaps the similarity of shanties themselves is making me miss that they're unique, but I seem to hear an excess of "donkey riding:", safe for sure jack (unsure on title), one about rolicking on the dandy 'o, and one about being born in south austrailia. I think theere's some I haven't even heard yet in a few hours of play.

Are the shanties truly random in playlist, or are there some kind of triggers? I'm not even sure I've heard all of the DLC ones but from title I recognize about half nor do I know how many songs were in the vanilla.
Hi Maddogg2020,

Could you please check which version of Nantucket you have installed? You can see it in the lower right corner in the main menu, if you bought the "Songs of the braves" DLC it should be 1.3b.

The sea shanties are split in two categories, depending on the overall mood of the crew, sad ones and happy ones. They are triggered randomly during certain events in the navigation, both vanilla and DLC shanties.

The DLC should be installed correctly because Donkey Riding is part of the DLC.

If morale triggers them in sets, that makes complete sense to me then; my crew is rarely not overjoyed other than at the very early stages. Version is correct and I was definitely hearing some of the DLC songs as I could recognize them by title from the store page.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. I'd say the only thing missing music wise is a button or flyout for selection of what to hear or a total randomization option although I realize that's not neccesairly quick and easy or something you'd even want to do. Overall, I'm liking the game. Price point was right for what it is.
