Good day,
I bought Myst Masterpiece Edition few days ago. I tried 2 separate environments to run and play the game but none of them worked:
Wine emulator in Gentoo:
I am Gentoo Linux user so I first tried to play Myst in Wine emulator. My first installation attempt I chose to install Qt but there was an error message with Qt install. Second installation attempt I chose "no" to install Qt. In both attempts when Myst started all there was showing is black screen with a mouse pointer with a menu: "File", "Transcend". I tried to pick "New" from "File" menu but nothing happened. Black frame every time I launch Myst.
Windows 7 (64-bit):
Ok, this time I figured Myst has to work. I booted into my Windows 7 partition, went through the same installation (chose "yes" to install Qt), but to my surprise I had exactly the same problem with Myst in native Windows 7 (64-bit) environment: black screen with File menu on the top and nothing else. Again, I tried to select "New" from "File" menu but the screen remained to stay black. I could see the mouse and move it around the black screen's boundaries (apparently the black screen was set to 800x600) resolution and that was it.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
Thanks,
Victor.
