This is the system notice that returns when I attempt to open setup_riven.exe.

I am running 64bit Win 7 Home Premium SP1 ASUS Notebook K53E Series

System exceeds minimum requirements

I don't know whether to run in a certain compatibility mode or what other settings to tweak.
Assistance will be most appreciated :)

If Riven is incapable of being run on 64bit OS then there needs to be a BIG DISCLAIMER in the system requirements listing.

Thanks.

Riven installs and works fine on my desktop PC (Win7 Professional 64bit) with no additional tweaking. I'm guessing there's something in your system configuration that prevents the installer from working.

A compatibility mode or even just launching the installer with admin rights might solve the issues in some cases, though I didn't need either of those methods. Another thing to note is that some old programs have problems with User Account Control, so if you have it on, lowering its settings or disabling it completely might help (I have UAC off by default).

There doesn't seem to be a universal solution, so try experimenting. If there's anything that interferes with the installer, it's most likely not the 64bit part alone.

Great. Thanks. GOG Support for Riven suggested I try lowering the UAC. I turned it completely off. Unfortunately that didn't help me. What on earth makes it work for some right off but not for others? Irritating. Anyway, I've tried running the installer in various compatibility modes and with and without admin rights. Other sources have suggested installing it to C Drive but I can't even get the installer to open ... among other things, some of which I've yet to try.

Unless anybody else has any further suggestions I guess I'll just have to resort to fussing with it until it (maybe) works. But again any helpful assistance is appreciated :) thanks.
Alright. Turns out it was a bad install.

Thank you for your advice YnK :)

Riven is installed and running with no apparent issues so far. CLOSED
