I have just started playing Myst 3, but am not sure how to save the game. I press 'save' and then 'quit', but it keeps asking me to 'save' again. How do I quit the game correctly? Thank you to anyone who can help!

Just tell it not to save after you save the first time.

Both III and IV have nice save-anywhere/anytime savegame functions--much nicer than newer games which you have to quit in order to save a game--one game!--don't know why developers are keen on that--save-anywhere/anytime is much better, imo...!

The don't save option did not work for me on my Mac OS Catalina. I have tried every option multiple times and am beginning to tire of Catherine and her baby and even Atus and Saevedro in the study!

Also unable to save game in Myst 3 on Catalina. The save seems to work, but the game isn't there next time I restart. Bummer.

I don't know if you're on a MacBook, but the problem you refer to is rather common. It has to do with writing rights given to GOG/Myst III.

Try this: On your MacBook, go to settings and grant "Full Disk Access" to Myst III/GOG in the Accessibility and Privacy settings.

Hey Yall, I had this problem where Myst III Exile (on MACOS Catalina) was saving to Documents/ResidualVMSavegames, but the saves did not show up when trying to access them from ingame, altough they showed up in finder. To solve the problem, go to System Preferences-Security and Privacy-Files and Folders and give GOG Galaxy access to the documents folder.
