I'm stuck on climbing the sacrifical rope in the water village (after completing submarine session), the issue is that I'm not able to click while the video is playing, and it is required that you move before the rope came totally down to be able to jump on it when it goes up.

EDIT: while spamcliking and trying to walk around the sacrifical pod i heard a loud sound (like gate opened) and game crashed.. sigh XD..

do you ever tested Riven on any PC (and by tested i mean try to finish the game once) before uploading it to GOG?

I'm pretty sure it is not required to click before the rope comes totally down. If it were that tricky, then I likely would not have gotten past it. I'll have to play it again to know what does work. In the mean time, you might check some different sources (e.g. the descriptions in several walkthroughs) because I don't know when I'll next find the time.
Thanks, but I already finished Riven plenty of times when it was first released ( I own original box), actually took 3 hours yestereday evening to finish it (just in time to go to bed) again and try 3 different endings.. there should be 5 endings If I remember correct.

If that can become usefull to anyone:

To get past the rope I had to spamclick while ALT+TABBING the game, would have taken 1 hour to finish but game was continuosly crashing (yep tried to set CPU affinity on task manager but it says I can't set affinity u.u).

It is surprising I can remember perfectly the solution and how to piece clues even after almost 20 years, the game originally took me almost 6 months XD, with some hints by a player who already finished it (in 3 months).

The reason I bought It on GOG was that the original box has an issue: since I'm on a laptop the CD reader goes in sleep mode in certain video-sequences and prevent me to click on time-events (ironically the CD version stucked me in the same point as the GOG version XD). Now I have to try to rip original files maybe I can mix the best of 2 versions (italian translation, no sleep mode problem and no crash? yes the CD version never crash).

I also spent sime time in finding a utility that prevent CD to go in sleep mode before finding GOG's riven version.
