I've just installed the new version of Riven.
My computer is powerful enough, I have turned off anti-virus, etc.
Running the game, every time I move to a new node (a place I have not visited before, a view I have not seen before), my disk activity LED lights up solid red for up to 5 minutes. Nothing can happen during that time. Then it turns off and I can resume playing, only for the same problem to happen again and again. This does not happen when I go back to already visited nodes.This does not happen only when watching a quicktime clip.
I've tried to monitor the disk activity with the Windows process monitor and resource monitor, also with "Whatismycomputerdoing". Nothing obvious. I've tried changing affinity, reinstalling quicktime, changing quicktime options, running the game as administrator.
I'm running out of ideas!
