I am currently playing Riven, and I'm running it on Linux Mint 17 via PlayOnLinux.
During playing, the games occasionally freezes at various quicktime videos.
After looking through the internets, I found the solution to this issue, which I want to share with you.
The problem is, like with many old games, that is has to be on one CPU core only in order to work properly.
Starting it via this command (and then click on it within PlayOnLinux) solves the issue:
taskset -c 0 playonlinux
