I downloaded Riven from GOG earlier today because I was told it would work on my Windows 7 x64 system, but I've found that nothing seems to work. As soon I launch the game, it attempts to change my resolution, turns my screen black for a couple of seconds, and seems to launch the game but immediately quits to the desktop and the game never even starts.

I've tried every fix I can find online, and nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions?

My system is configured as follows:
- Windows 7 x64
- 8 GB RAM
- AMD Radeon HD7970
- AMD FX-8350 processor (4.0 GHz, 8 cores)

Well, I seem to have alleviated my crash on startup problem by installing an earlier version of QuickTime, but now my movies won't play. Any thoughts how to fix it?
