How do I get Riven from the Myst 10th Anniversary DVD to run from the hard drive instead. I've copied the entire DVD to a folder, and I used that to install, but it's still reading the DVD past whatever protection check it's doing. It reads the DVD for every video and action too.

Due to the age of the games on disc, the best place to find assistance with getting them to install and load on a modern day operating system is at the Ubisoft community support forums located at http://forums.ubi.com/.

There you can find help with Myst, Riven, Exile, Revelation, End of Ages, plus URU and its expansion packs.

You can also contact the game's publisher, Ubisoft [support.ubi.com], directly to see if they still officially support installation of these older titles on disc.

Late answer, but the best thing to do is to go to use ScummVM. They list which files on the DVD that should be copied to hard drive in order for ScummVM to run it. I've played Riven that way, both the original DVD and 10th Anniversary release of the game. Easy peasy.

Or you can buy the game here at GOG. Uses SvummVM to run the game, so the result will be the same.
