I can play real myst for about 5-10 minutes before it crashes & shuts down. I've tried all the solutions that I've found here on the forums & none of them work thus far. Does anyone have any more suggestions?

I'm using a brand new laptop running windows 7 - an acer aspire 7741Z

Things I've tried:
1. Running as administrator
2. Downloaded all updates for OS
3. All drivers are up to date
4. Downloaded & installed June 2010 DirectX runtime package
5. Tried uninstalling & reinstalling
6. Turned off UAC
7. Tried running using the compatibility options & got an error which said missing a file - win_int.dat try to reinstall - thats when I reinstalled.

If you are running Windows 7 64-bit, you can also try installing into C:\Program Files (rather than C:\Program Files (x86) ).
You can try changing the Direct 3D setiings from 'Direct 3D & T&L' to 'Direct 3D' using the setup utility in the game start menu folder
I did try installing it into the "regular" program files folder when I first installed it (I knew there was a solution I had forgotten to mention) and it didnt seem to help.

I'll try chaning the 3D settings & see how that goes.
Well.. I tried to change the 3D settings - there seem to be 2 settings but they both say the same thing:
Intel(R) HD Graphics [Direct 3D Hal]

I went ahead and tried it with the other that wasnt selected but unfortunately, the game still crashed after about 8 minutes.
Try this: Click.

Works perfectly, no more changing of 3D settings, no more compatibility modes, no more installing in one specific folder, no more crashes, running with all effects and full resolution without weird performance issues!
Hi everyone, just bought a new laptop a couple of weeks ago and bought/downloaded Myst Masterpiece Edition from gog.com. I loved this game when it came out and was so excited to play it again. I remember the original version would freeze up all the time (video card issue I believe ) but I thought for sure that a newer computer wouldn't have the same issues...I was mistaken :(

I'm not very computer savvy, but I'd love some help figuring this out. I'm running Windows 10 with Intel core i5. Should be more than enough to play a game from the 90's.

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
