Disappointed by the absence of both features, apparently.
I third that !
I had to go into NVIDIA Control Panel to adjust brightness and gamma, etc.

Trouble is the Panel is broken and crashes when I try changing other options in the 3D panel.
That is NVIDIA's fault not the games fault

Yep, I have to go into the AMD driver panel and lower the brightness level in a Myst game profile to see it without it affecting my general desktop settings. Very odd to see this in 2021.

In Obduction they used a gamma control but it was separated from the other settings in the game--and although you could adjust it--the settings wouldn't save so you had to adjust it evefy time you opened the game. In Obduction they also supported HDR but then removed it in an update, mentioning that they were a small stupdio and did not have the resources to support HDR properly. Cyan isn't that small, certainly. Hello Games is fairly small and they have no trouble supporting HDR in NMS. Ditto other companies.

Been going back and forth between this version and the 2014 realMystmasterpiece version. There are things--a few things--I like better about the 2014 version--for instance it offers two control schemes--one for movement with the mouse--which is very fast and fluid, and one for movement with the cursor keys. Myst 2021 only allows movement via the cursor keys. Also, the 2014 version allowed more save games than the new Myst allows.

And the Photography option with the new myst is great--will save a lot of paperwork--which these days I am too old to be interested in...;) But darned if I can remember how it works! Guess I'll have to fire up Obduction again to find out, as the new Myst seems made with the Obduction engine.

Almost forgot--I much prefer the FMV clips in the earlier Myst versions compared to these very simplist, artificial looking 3d-modeled heads I've seen in the new Myst! I've heard that complaint elsewhere and I absolutely agree with it. Should be no reason at all the old FMV used in 2014 would not work with the new Myst. The change has cheapened the game, imo.

Hey--just got a message from Galaxy telling my that Myst has been updated! Time to check it out...;)
