I'm running Vista 64 bit, running Myst Masterpiece (just downloaded today) in compatability mode for Windows 2000 and with admin permission, but when I click on the file, rather than doing the opening sequence with Atrus's voiceover and then dropping the book in front of me, the game starts with the book already there. Was the movie removed from the masterpiece verison? I can't immagine why it would be.
EDIT: Apparently, none of the in game movies are playing. I click on the book and it just opens it rather than playing the flyover cinematic. Same thing happens when I click on one of the prison books in the library; the book opens and there's no immage in the right hand page.

Hi,
Try ticking the box for 'disable visual themes' on the shortcut. That and XP compatibility mode solved the issue of some movies not playing for me.

Thank you. Funny enough, I ran it again under the same settings you described before even looking at this and it seems to have fixed the problem
Yeah, in Vista and Win7 sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right combo of compatibility settings.
Anyway, it's good to know you got it working ;)
Hi ! I just bought & started to play this game, but all I can see is the palm of a hand or a cursor & a blank screen ! When I click alt +f 8 buttons to open map, map opens o.k, but when I click on map the screen goes blank again ! I`m running a windows 7, 32 bit version. Any help please ? Thanks, Dominic.
