Myst is a game that has not aged as well as one might hope. The gameplay feels limited by the technology at the time of its original release with simplistic exploration driven puzzles. Don't be fooled by the 3D remake, the graphics are, if anything, worse off (something I suspected before purchase but infuriating compatibility problems prevented me from playing original Myst). The seemingly rushed remake suffers from the occasional system slowdown and some screen tearing that works against the immersion the game is trying to achieve. However, all this aside, there was still pleasant enough environments and story to keep me going - and I'm looking forwards to playing the far more praised Riven. In retrospect, I would give Real Myst a skip and just move on to Riven.
