AWESOME! Guys, thank you so much for making my wildest dream come true. Playing Myst on my netbook while traveling... I never finished this game in the past when I was young und more action orientated in games. Today I'm 25. Myst, this time I will find out all your secrets.

Hahaha this past week I was in Seattle and I had a sudden urge to play Myst. So I tore through every store in Seattle looking for some copy of Myst for my laptop. I get home today and check my email and boom Myst from GOG for $6 better then the $40 I was about to pay Amazon. Thanks a lot GOG team and Cyan World!

As I remember from trying to play this a year ago on GameTap, Apple had broken backwards compatability with the version of QuickTime required by Myst, rendering the original game impossible to play. You would have had to find an old version of QT and then divorce your system from Apple pretty much entirely, i.e. drop Safari and iTunes.
I'm not a fan of either, but dumping iTunes entirely is kind of a chafe if you've got a recent Shuffle in your household, since as near as I can tell they still don't work with MediaMonkey. (For what it's worth, it looks like there's another alternative but I've only just found it so we'll see.)
In any case, I haven't got it yet, but even if it sucks this is GOG at its finest in my opinion.

and thank god too, because maaaan, good luck getting these to work correctly on anything past Windows 95/98. Playing Riven on win98 installed on a virtual pc is not ideal.
I'm with you Smuenzer, Myst is going down this time. I used to play it at my buddy's house on his (then amazing) power mac, and we would log onto proto-AOL to bug people for hints. Good times.
