i'm playing riven and some of the animations won't play like buttons being pressed or the press in the fire marble dome puzzle. If anybody could tell me why that would be great.

According to this thread, it has to do with QuickTime.

Someone reported that installing a specific version of Quicktime (2.6.2) fixes the issue and plays those animations..
