The game progress is saved automatically. Just keep on playing.

You Can also move the mouse up to the top of the screen and save your progress yourself.

You can also move the cursor to the top of the screen and a menu will appear and you can save.

Yeah, are you using Windows 7? Whenever I try to save, the game crashes and I have to start over.
I though the whole point of GOG is that the games worked? I already own Riven, and the only reason I bought the GoG version is because mine wouldn't work right in Vista or Windows 7.
At least I only wasted $6
