Hey,

I see RealMyst is a top-selling product on GOG at the moment. I have never played these games before.

Is it worth buying RealMyst? I would like to play in 3D... the original point-and-click really doesn't interest me.

If I understand it correctly, RealMyst is exactly the same game, but in 3D. Doesn't this ruin the game, because it's supposed to be played in another way?

How long is this game in gameplay hours and how hard are the puzzles?

Also, this may be a stupid question, but you have Myst, Riven and Myst 5. Where is Myst 2, 3 and 4?
Thanks

"Myst 2" is Riven. As for 3 and 4, I'm not sure but I assume it has to do with licensing since Myst, Riven, and Myst 5 were made by the original creators but 3 and 4 weren't.

As far as realMyst goes, 3D doesn't "ruin" Myst, but I don't like it as much as the original. But that's personal preference. Lots of people like realMyst.

It doesn't ruin the game at all. It feels a lot different from the original game, but it doesn't ruin anything.

The only thing is that the puzzles are still the same, just in 3d, so if doing a lot of clicking is an issue for you then this series might not be the series for you. if by "the original point and click doesn't interest me" you meant because of the graphics, than this is the way to go. They aren't amazing compared to today's games, but if you put on a pretty high-powered computer you can get some really nice looking scenery. Also, realMyst has a new game area which ties into Riven a little better than the original did.

Also, you should know that in addition to the 5 main games, the game called Uru: Complete Chronicles is also a myst game (more of a spin-off), taking place in between 4 and 5. I would recommend playing it as Myst 5 really is very much involved with the Uru story.

I wish they would release a new version of Myst which used new, super photo-realistic point-and-click graphics but with the additional details (Rime age, Tiana gravestone, etc.) from realMyst.
