So I on a whim decided to get this game. I don't know a single thing about Myst besides the fact that it's an old, hard, puzzle game.
I started the game up and everything was fine until I had to click on the book, then everything went to shit. It just had a bunch of weird overlaying graphics and stuttered until after 2 minutes of clicking around a basically frozen screen I ended up on a dock.
Once again everything went smoothly until I tried to open a door. Then the game basically froze and then worked at maybe 1 frame every 3 seconds. I just quit after about 30 seconds.
I know people have these problems with old games on new computers, so is there any possible way to fix this?
I've got windows 7, 8g ram and 1t hardrive. It's a wiped clean handmedown computer so I really know nothing about graphics card or anything.
I hope this problem can be fixed, I was kind of looking forward to trying out these notoriously hard puzzles. Otherwise, thank god GOG has a 30 day money back thing.
