fresh install of myst masterpiece through galaxy..
start game and error message shows.
"error running game: Audio device initialization failed"

ive seen a steam thread saying to disable every "human interface device" in sequence to find the one causing the issue...

is there something more straight forward or conclusive to try?

Please email suppoprt@cyan.com and attach a copy of the computer's dxdiag report for reference (unless you're on a Mac), then just email and explain the issue. They'll help troubleshoot the problem with you.
