I presume this is a game running through DOSBox, yet there is no installer for macOS or Linux.

Is this just that they didn't get around to it or is it that there's something about this game beyond the abilities of DOSBox?

Try this one below, which has Windows, Linux, and MacOS versions, and appears to be officially licensed, and actively developed.
