Took me awhile to really figure things out and get into the flow of it as this is my first time really playing any of the M&B games, and the frequent deaths early on nearly made me quit the game, but now i'm seriously hooked! Been playing it for the past several days straight. If I literally have a hard time putting a game down or even wanting to play something else, that to me is the mark of a good game. Had the same experience with Terraria until I hit the massive hard mode difficulty roadblock, lol.

The game to me is like someone took the best parts of Dynasty Warriors, Sid Meier's Pirates, and little bits of the manager and economic sim genres and came up with a nice combination result.

And my god, looking over the mods for this game has me giddy, lol. Especially this one that turns the game into my favorite historical era: Sengoku period Japan. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,305617.0.html

I'm usually more for the older games, but this newer one is great and the kind of stuff gog should get more of.

And more like this is being made: https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord
I agree. There's been few modern games that I've truly enjoyed, but Warband is definitely one of them. And there's a fantastic mod selection and community. The gameplay is exactly like something I wished years ago we'd see. I finished one playthrough for Swadia, and the Deluge plotline in With Fire and Sword, now I'm looking forward to mucking around the gameworld with the different cheats. :-)
I don't own Warband but I experienced the same while playing the original game (and I'm still playing it a lot!). I remember spending almost entire nights playing it during my first week, and the mods for both the original and Warband are pure awesomeness.
