Hi.

I'm running M&B Warband on Linux, and haven't had many issues. I'm trying to play the AD1257 mod, but I'm having a strange problem.

When I start M&B, the game launches directly into fullscreen (a black screen for a few momens, then the Warband loading screen). I never have the pop-up start page allowing one to select between different mods.

Anyone know what the deal is?
Hello,

the Linux port does not launch a pre-game config tool before the game itself like the Windows version.
You need to use the separate config tool:

./game/mbw_config.sh

It's a QT app that will allow you to change the same settings as the splash tool you're talking about, including the active mod to load.

Note that there seems to be a bug for a lot of people with this tool: the available mods do not appear properly in the selection list. If that happens to you, you can instead edit this file:

~/.mbwarband/last_module_warband

And set the module you wish to load inside. For example, "Native" would load the native game; and something like "Floris Expanded Mod Pack 2.54" or "Diplomacy" would load respectively the latest Floris or the Diplomacy mod.
The name needs to match exactly the name of the directory containing the mod inside game/Modules.

Also note that you can edit the settings themselves by editing:

~/.mbwarband/rgl_config.txt

(including settings that do not appear either in the game or in the config tool, such as multithreading settings).

Awesome, thanks a bunch!
I'm having the same problem but on mac - it goes directly to the full screen loading completely missing the launch screen so there's no way to choose mods or toggle the cheats on. My stats (str, int, etc) also get set to 0 somewhere along the way.

I'm running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 and the latest Mount & Blade Warband for mac - 2.025 Hotfix 20160907 (GOG 28) (the download file is mount__blade_warband_en_2.10.0.28)

I had it installed before, a while ago, and it used to load just fine. Any ideas?

I had to run:
sudo apt install libqt5widgets5
first.

See:

Looks like it works! I also had to install the `libqt5widgets5t64` package because of the missing `libQt5Widgets.so.5` library. Then I had to change to the `game` directory to run the script as `./mbw_config.sh`. Otherwise, the available mods did not appear as mentioned above as a known bug.
