When I attempt to launch the updated Moto Racer 2 with DirectX 3D setting checked, the game will not launch. The screen goes black and then I am back to my desktop.

I have tried running with game manual start-up settings checked and set it to just "-D3D". This DID NOT solve my issue!

I have tried re-installing Direct X.
This DID NOT solve my issue!

I contacted GOG Tech Support and they are stumped! I have the latest sound and video card drivers installed. I have no issues with ANY games including GOG's Moto Racer.

Any ideas?

8/6/11 Update:
alien750's solution worked for me. He used a very high KeepAvailableVram switch for his GeForce GTX 570. This solved my issue also:

-d3d -KeepAvailableVram3800000000

Do you have the motoracer2.ini
in the folder,
my lines after setting it for D3D manual are as follows:
[Settings]
D3D=true
Language=English
ManualSettings=-D3D -KeepAvailableVram800000000
Params=-KeepAvailableVram800000000

Then, I ran moto.exe from then on, aftter I had ran the other exe to configure it.

I think your given the option to run it in directx mode or not. You can also run it windowed

I had also played the demo first

if your game get a blank screen with the cursor only right after the title screen, try this :
1. Go to C:\Program Files\CGN\Moto Racer 2 \Data (your
installation folder)
2. Delete or move all the .avi files you found
3. Your game ready to play!!!

I have a program I've been using for 3DFX games called nglide, http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide

================
There is also a log file the game creates called: delphine.err it can help you to troubleshoot and can be viewed with a text editor such as notepad

I also had this problem and nothing I tried seemed to work. Then I read nindustrialny solution on this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/moto_racer_series/direct3d_problem

Gosh darn it, he was right. Starting the game from the Moto Racer 2 folder by double clicking on moto.exe worked for me. Don't ask me why, but this is how I have to start the game.

Goletz
-d3d -KeepAvailableVram3800000000

Thanks. This worked for me!
