The game starts to load and then suddenly stops and throws me back to the desktop with a white 640x480 box in the top left corner....any ideas?

I'm running Win7 x64.

Ok it looks like the intro movies are the problem. They were encoded with that pos codec known as Indeo.

For others having this problem, you can tick 'no intro' in the launcher and the game should load. However...it looks likes there's also some non-intro videos in there too. A better solution would be to re-encode them. I tested this out myself and the game does play re-encoded videos (some games are iffy about that).

How would one re-encode the videos? Are there freeware tools that can do this? And which settings would have to be used?

I tried to re-encode but it doesn't work. The videos don't open in VirtualDub, and refuse to play in Media player either. I just hear sound, without picture.
Can you please let us know how did you do it? Or maybe you can post the re-encoded videos for us please :)? That would be generous. Thanks!
