this question aimed at anyone who might have bought the steam version (Mortal Kombat Collection) I did, and couldn't really play it. I'd always played the game with the numpad and it was impossible to remap keys.

Googling left me with no fix but lots of people complaining about the same thing

Actually, you can do so by editing MKHDGame\Config\MKHDInput.ini, under MKHDGame.MKHDInputMapping. I believe some rebinding was possible in-game, too, though that might depend on the game in question.

Keys are rebindable. In MK1 and 2 you enter setting by either pressing F9 or F10 (I can't remember right now).
