Given that the Mortal Kombat series are DOS games, I'm wondering, do any modern controllers work with them? And if so, would you recommend any controllers in particular?

I find using the keyboard clunky. I love these games, but I think a controller would be far better.

I just use JoyToKey mapped to the default keyboard controls for each game. DOSBox also has a remapping function, but I had trouble getting some buttons to work.

I use a ps4 controller and work in the game. Just press f2 to open the options menu and joystick (or controller...) to remap, but everytime launch the game i have to remap because it reset everything to default, so this can be annoying. Oh... and d-pad don't work so you have to use the stick for movement.
