Is there a way to get more kredits in MK 2?

The AI is just ridiculous sometimes and I need more than 4 credits to complete the ladder.

Is there a way to get more or unlimited kredits?

MK2 also has a freeplay cheat, but it is much harder to do. As soon as the copyright screen appears when the game boots up, type "AICULEDSSUL" VERY quickly. You'll hear a special sound effect if you did it right (it may take a few tries, as you have to be extremely quick); at this point hit F9 and you'll be taken to a cheat menu where you can enable freeplay. And unfortunately, this has to be re-enabled every time you boot the game up. But yeah. If you can handle the specific circumstances of these ports, they're fantastic once you get them working the way you want.

Pro tip: I paused the game with alt + p(don't need to press + it is just what you need to press together) first and reduced the cycles with control + F11 until it was slow enough to actually be capable of writing the above cheat unpaused it wrote the cheat and increased the cycles back to normal with control + F12.
I do feel kinda annoyed doing this so i only played as Scorpion by now and beat it.
And btw the worst boss before teh final boss kintaro or what he is called needed really long to beat him but the most silly and easy way to defeat him with Scorpion was just going close to him and pressing HP he keept blocking and i keept punching him so long until he fell.

Open MK2.EXE with any HEX editor, and search for the following string (which corresponds to AICULEDSSUL):

1E 17 2E 16 26 12 20 1F 1F 16 26

Let’s assume you want to set it up so that a single F9 keypress activates the cheat menu. Then replace the above with:

43 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Now when I start game I just pound on F9 quickly and the cheat menu comes right up.

I tried you Hex Editor trick, got in the cheat menu, enabled Freeplay with F9 but I still get a credit countdown if I lose.

Any ideas?

Well, I just tested it and it works. In case it is still not working by some cosmic reason for you, there are 3 options:

1. Using hex editor you can easily change the values of the continues. Monitor the change by default and once enabling free play from the cheat menu. Then you will know which one you need to change;

2. Press F2 for player 2 to entering the tournament before the continue screen. Beat player 2 and continue your game;

3. Use trainer. I still need to test the ones I got, as i do not know if they work with this version.

I was able to get into the Cheat menu with the HEX editor trick, but I can't seem to figure out how to leave the cheat menu and then play the game with cheats enabled.
