Apparently MK3 Ultimate was an update for the default MK3, adding new characters, some new combos, and a couple of map replacements. So I was wondering what MK3 version is in the pack: default or Ultimate?

The normal MK3 - its DOS version to be specific.

It's the DOS version of MK 3 although assuming it runs correctly on your system, it's by no means a bad port. I actually appreciate that the CPU AI on this game is competitive without just being cheap. So non-fanatics have a chance to win and you don't just have to resort to manipulating quirks in the AI to overcome them like you have to in Ultimate 3.
