Wondering if the native Linux version will also release on GOG? I'd prefer buying here, even if it means waiting a bit longer ...

Animation Arts has unfortunately announced on Steam that they cannot develop a Linux port for this time.

So the System information on the Steam store page must be incorrect in that case. Odd, but who knows how that comes to be. The discussion you linked to seems trustworthy, though. Thanks :-).

I can confirm that there is no native Linux version on Steam. Linux users get the Windows version which launches via Proton.

However, the Windows version runs OOTB with Wine & DXVK (tested with plain Wine 8.17 and DXVK 2.3). Feels like running a native Linux game, top performance, no issues.

Not completly, the Linux system requirements are for the steam deck support. And I don't know many about linux so when you can use proton, like hollwitz described, you can play it on linux. But the generally support is not handable for Animation Arts.
