Translated by the Hebrew Adventure community, a Hebrew patch is available for the special edition, allowing to play the original version of MI2 with Hebrew text (and localized graphics!).

You can find the patch by googling "github adventurebrew scummworks", and then clicking "Monkey Island 2 Release" on the right side of the page.
The modified game works by running it using SCUMMVM - The latest daily version of SCUMMVM is recommended.

Yes, the patch works by creating a version of the original game out of the SE. That version is then playable using SCUMMVM. I've edited the post a bit for clarity.
