Hi,

For those of you living in Germany there is an even cheaper option for getting hold of the special editions versions of Monkey Island 1 & 2. If you go to Media Markt, you will find the DVD of Monkey 1 & 2 SE (including the respective bonuses) for ten Euro!!!

Should you ask why I would (and nevertheless did) also get the GOG versions, I have to say that I support the platform :-) (despite of the dependencies / decrepencies - as e.g. in the shape of forced SCUMMVM versions where I would also have preferred DOSBox compatible versions !!! e.g. I still have the original CDs of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (CD), Day of the Tentacle (CD), Sam and Max hit the Road :-), Monkey Island 1 (CD audio) & 2 ), Full Throttle, and The Dig - as well as Rebel Assault 1 & 2 ;-)).

Cheers
Patrick
There is also an English version of this bundle, though I'm not not on its availability.
However, it should be mentioned that the DVD-version is not DRM free. It is infected with the Securom plague, which is more than enough reason for me to buy the GOG.com version.
What the DVD version has to offer though are the complete remastered soundtracks of both games as well as tons of concept art, including some of the original background paintings for MI2 as well as storyboards for a shelved Monkey Island movie. But yeah, the DRM sucks.

Strange, my (English) version has only DVD check as DRM.

Yes, the DVD check is done by SecuROM.
Admittedly this is far from being the worst kind of DRM and also far from the worst kind of SecuROM (there are SR-versions which install Rootkits on your PC), but it is still not DRM-free.
