One of my favourite lines from Curse of Monkey Island seems to be gone. When you try to drink champagne in the very early game, Guybrush used to say "Naw, champagne makes me all giggly", but now just says, "Mmm, naw". It's possible that I'm mis-remembering when he says this, but I'm pretty sure the line's been censored.

Does anyone know if anything else has been changed? Is it possible to de-censor with a patch?
This question / problem has been solved by Zyankaliimage
In which exact location does this take place?
There is no censorship ...

Sounds like you've got a bad pixel clicker, from the image now given by Zyan.

Why would someone censor ""Naw, champagne makes me all giggly"?...;) That would amount to far more trouble than it's worth, imo.

I thought Disney might balk at the explicit reference to alcohol in a game that could be marketed towards kids. The alternative line was already recorded, so I imagined that it wouldn't take much modification of the source code just to change which voice line popped up when you tried to drink the champagne.

It's weird, because I tried several times to make this line happen, and it always played the wrong line. I don't suppose it could be a regional thing? Does gog even do that?
Nope, I tried a new game, and it worked. It must have been a bug? I really tried the first time, several times.

It's probably that the game is programmed with multiple responses, in some cases, I should think.

I know you've already marked a solution to this, but just for anyone who's interested: I noticed many years ago that sometimes Guybrush would say the "giggly" line, and others he would not. The trick is to tell guybrush to drink the champaigne before observing it. If you observe it first he realizes that it is, in fact, not champaigne, but some fancy formaldehyde or something.

Anyway, just tell Guybrush to drink it. The less he knows the better.
