It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I think CMI looks pretty terrible with the default settings. Checking the Filter graphics setting in the options menu helps, but it still doesn't look like I remember the game.

Thankfully, I found that someone has written a better up-scaling plugin for ScummVM and you can download the patched version if you google "xbrz scummvm". You should find a Sourceforge repository with a file named "ScummVM_1.9.0+xBRZ_Win32.zip". I'd post the link but it seems that it's not allowed.

I found this from the ScummVM forums here. There are also links to screenshots in the thread, like the one attached. I'd post the link but again, it's not allowed.

What I did is that I switched the scummvm folder in the CMI folder to the xbrz one and it seems to work with GOG Galaxy. I just don't know what's going to happen when the game updates, but at least so far everything works and the graphic are closer to how I remember the game.

Just my two cents :)

I was able to find the website you were referring to, and while the screenshots didn't work (it seemed to be a posting from 2016), I was able to find the directions to install and it looks to work perfectly!

I even was able to use the SweetFX they suggested in addition to the xBRZ. I searched for "TOPIC: Need Reshade + SweetFX 2.0 Installer" for the specific version of the settings the original poster had referred to, which was a little difficult, since it's so outdated.

CMI is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm so glad to be able to reexperience it on GOG and with these slight graphical modifications/improvements. Seems unlikely that a true HD version will be coming out at this time.

Thank you for this suggestion! Cheers!
