Hi

Is there any screen resolution options? Don´t see none in the drop down menu (prefs) tab. Also is there a way to make the top menu bar smaller?

Thanks
Yeah. I need to know this before buying. I don't want a game that is postage stamp size in the middile of my 1440p screen.
How well does the game run on Windows 7 64-bit?
I've been playing with it for a number of hours now.

It runs just as I remember it 20 years ago. Now, there are some things that seem to be missing and I will have to build a separate post about that.

As far as the resolution issue, I havent been able to figure out a way, without any modification of game files, to adjust the resolution of the game itself as it was programmed in an era of only 4:3 resolutions at 1024x768 as the maximum back in '96 when it was released. When you run it on modern Windows, it'll force your primary desktop to 800x600, but you can readjust it back to your normally desired resolution in Windows.

The game itself seems to constantly be in a state of 640x480, regardless if you maximize the window it runs in.

Otherwise, it runs perfectly!

Could you elaborate on this please?
Only if I exit the game the default windows resolution is back to normal. When the game is running I did not find a way to do that.

I'm playing it on Windows 7 64 bit. It doesn't play the intro movie for some reason, but first mission played without any problems.
Might anyone know how to run it in a window, please?

This t least you can change in prefs, Video, but it seems the game is inferior to the original with Win10 Fix as there I could readjust the screensize to max Desktop in Windows, here it sets max Windows screen size very low, so the game doesnt benefit from higher resolutions.

You can just right click your desktop and go to "screen resolution" in windows7. You probably need to disable the "game always fills entire screen" option in Cyberstorm, in Prefs -> Windows tab, first.
Does the game have a separate Launcher program to adjust the resolution?
The game runs just fine on my Win7-32 but I'd want to make it fill the entire screen (I have 5:4 1280*1024 monitor) without the black fields by the sides of the screen. There's no any appropriate option in Prefs in-game or in EXE compatibility tab (and the checked tick that prevents the picture stretch to entire screen is shadowed/inactive).

Honestly, the disk version with 1.1 patch and Win7 fix runs better (except only the lack of intro video, that is passable).

That's exactly right because Cyberstorm typically runs in a window in the first place.

Unfortunately, because CSTORM.EXE forces the resolution change down every time on startup, we'll have to lobby to get a more permanent fix in place.
Yes, this is super important! I just bought the game, and the resoluition is a massive problem. I have a 34" 3440x1440 monitor, and running 800x600 (with 640x480 inside) is horrid.

So firstly, that needs fixing.

Important for anyone trying to get this working at a better res, as stated above (but a little confusingly)...

Game -> Prefs -> WIndows
Turn "Game always fills entire screen" off (and restart).

Now when you run the game, your monitor's resolution will - for absolutely no good reason - switch to 800x600 (with the game running inside that, I think at 640x480). Now right click on your desktop and change your screen resolution back to normal - and then "maximise" the game window.

It should now be running at a decent resolution (3440x1440 for me, minus some black on the top and bottom).

But really, thjis behaviour needs to be fixed... the default behaviour is pretty unacceptable.

But I love the game, as always.

Thank a ton for the clarification. With that method the game resolution does not scale on base screen so it is super tiny and the combat maps are completely corrupted. See image attached for reference.

Anyone encountering the same issue?

Cheers
