Bored with MM6 but like the M&M game system? Tired of the same old story and monster bashings? Then give The Choas Conspiracy a-go!
The Chaos Conspiracy is a two-part fantasy/adventure game that uses the original Might and Magic VI game engine. Part 1 uses the original MM6 map world. Part 2 uses a newly created map world. The Part 1 adventure takes place in the vast world of Nimradur; a land of diverse topology, realms, populations, myths, customs, and ‘creatures’. The central game plot is unique, unfolds in nine ‘chapters’, and is supported by a plethora of local challenges.
Part 1 of the game has been extensively play tested both in the Alpha and Beta stages of development, and is now released to the Might and Magic Community at-large in its final version.
Part 1 of The Chaos Conspiracy (TCC) contains a completely new main storyline, quests and subquests, dialogs, many new and/or imported graphics, and new weapon and creature stats. The game-start and game-dne video sequences are new and reflect the new game as presented in both Part 1 and Part 2..
TCC Part 2 is not your standard RPG-adventure game, nor is it your conventional MM game. Rather it is a game of Discovery and of Exploration. In TCC Part 2, you will enter a world unknown and uncivilized: no maps, no villages, no towns; only Creation in its rawest of forms. A single quest drives you onward through this land, as you gather clues from nature and progress towards the end. Your only guide will be your journal of notes, and your only chance of survival will be your wits, your might, and your magic.

Hey BDJ, nice to see you've found your way here!
I'm probably gonna try your MM6 mod.
Can I use it alongside my weapon mods (items.txt) ?
Well, I found out that I can!
I successfully took your items.txt (because there are a lot of things you changed) and incorporated all my balancing changes to the basic weapons and armor while keeping all your changes to the artifacts, rings/belts/helms/boots, blasters, quest items, etc
The changes we both did to the basic items is remarkably similar (longsword changed to 3d4, axe to 4d3, etc) except that I was more generous in my bonuses to all the two handed weapons in general (minus halberd), and I did not buff the bows, maces and daggers at all.
the "diffmerge" utlilty is a godsend for comparing text files and what's changed within them.

I have heard of your mod before ...did not know that there was a second part to it! Nice!
When working with the mod, all I can advise is to carefully follow the procedures. I have no idea about stability, bugs, balance or anything for any mods out.

Undead Half Orc,
Yaeh. Didn't know this site existed until MikeK mentioned it over at Celestial Heavens!
I'm glad that you were able to merge the two items.txt files. Everything should work as long as you have not changed tghe quest items or 'special' game-related weapons required to complete the game.
Let me know how it turns out!

thank you! didn't know that mods were possible for MM6, so I'll give it a try!!
I'm playing through part one and it's a whole lot of fun (a completely different game!). However I'm stuck at King Jaffar's quest where you have to go judge 5 people. I've found a few of them, but I'm frustrated that I can't find the rest. Does anyone know where they are?
Does anyone know where The Chaos Conspiracy can be downloaded? The provided mediafire link does not work anymore.

Thanks.

Wow. Very nice mod. My wife and I have been really been enjoying it. There is one interesting thing I found near the end of the game. Strangely, I watched a playthrough on youtube and this encounter did not appear at all! It occurs when you open the first door in the Hive dungeon. When you do, get this, nearly four HUNDRED fighters attack you all at once!! They are all packed on top of one another, and because this is right inside the door there is absolutely nowhere to run and take cover. You have only maybe three rounds before they attack you (and instantly kill the entire party) and as each guy has over 2500 hit points there is no way to kill them with area effect spells before you get jumped!!! I tried every possible combination of area effect spells, and you just can't generate 2500 hit points of damage to every one of those guys in two rounds. Fireball, no way. Dragon breath, no way. It just can't be done without having an absurd level in dark magic (maybe level 35+) or having all mages in the party. (See if you can figure out how to generate 2500 damage to every creature in front of you with only 2 rounds to do it in!!)

I did find a way to win with my two mage group at only level 15 or so in magic skills. It is pretty darn sneaky and requires using several exploits and lots of brute force slogging away. Let me know if you want to know my way. It isn't pretty, but it does work.

Very interesting encounter! I've never seen so much loot in my life!! The floor of the room was covered with armor, helms, weapons, everything afterward. Hundreds upon hundreds of items laying all over the floor! CRAZY!

Update. So, after playing though this wonderful mod a few times I realized that my problem in the hive is partially of my own making. Unlike the original game this game will sometimes respawn EVERYTHING when you leave and reenter a dungeon -- even if everything isn't dead. Which means if you go in and out a few times there are so many monsters that you literally cannot run around them. This makes a hard dungeon nearly impossible which is what happens in the hive. You have to be very careful to not use the dungeon reset exploit and finish the entire dungeon in one go. Very interesting and something that absolutely did not happen in the original game. I've found this also occurs in the Lair of Koshi when you select hardest difficulty (it's in Cheroburg south of town). This is very interesting because it is REALLY HARD. On normal it's hard, but manageable even for a medium level party, but on hard it is ridiculous! I'm looking forward to taking it on after we get the party above level 100, but, as I said, don't go in and out a few times because it just makes it even harder! Thanks so much for this amazing mod!

I would like to know if I messed up the install. In part 2 are the orbs in Roc Land supposed to teleport you to different maps? They do not work for me if that is the case.
Great Mod. I do hope someone is still interested.

I get to Tortuga Hall, having been sent by the brother, and am told the door is locked. I have no key.

Where is the key?
