I'm experiencing problems saving games in MMVI:Mandate of Heaven. The problem is after playing the game for a little while it won't save no matter how many times I try it and if the game tries to autosave it crashes. If I restart the game or load up another save file, the problem goes away for a while until it recurs again a few minutes later.

I've tried running the game as an administrator, using the patch, re-installing the game and renaming the folder, but none of this seems to work. What's puzzling is that it does save perfectly well until it suddenly decides not to and I can't work out why.

I assume you bought your copy. Have you tried on any torrents? Many times i've found gog.com don't work on my win 7 and always the last resort is torrents :)


EDIT: I found another solution, try this:

Solution: go to
C:\Users\<YOUR_USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\GOG.com\Might & Magic VI Limited Edition\Might and Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven\Saves
and delete the corrupted save file. Saving works well after that

The solution was to go into the compatibility settings and change it to an earlier version of Windows
